Indigenous Peoples and Social Assessment 


The training on Indigenous Peoples and Social Assessment was held from March 8 to 11, 2016 at the Waterfront Insular Hotel in Davao City.

A total of Forty-eight (48) trainees and fourteen (14) resource persons participated in the training. The resource persons came from: ADB, World Bank, University of the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila University, First Philippine Holdings Corp./Energy Development Corp., and National Commission on Indigenous Peoples. The participants were environmental and social safeguard specialists, planning officers, business development officers, medical officer, project focal persons, community relations/liaison officers, community development specialists, forest management specialists, project managers, lawyers, engineers, heads of units involved in environment, health and safety (EHS), and head of units and organizations involved with development projects. The participants came from various sectors. Twenty-two or 45.8% of the participants came from Public administrative and defense (e.g., government agencies)
