OUR HISTORY

The Philippine Learning Center for Environment and Social Sustainability (PHILCESS) is a constituent center of the University of the Philippines National Engineering Center; dedicated to provide capacity building programs to increase the country’s ability to plan, build, and maintain infrastructure projects for the greatest benefit to communities with the least impact on the environment and society. In cooperation with development partners such as the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Philippine Learning Center offers training programs that aim to strengthen skilled technical capacity in the areas of Environment and Social Safeguards.

PHILCESS is positioned as a leading regional provider of training programs on environment and social safeguards.

We believe that capacity building can help promote sustainability and better outcomes for communities.

MISSION

To provide capacity building programs to increase the country’s sustainability plan, build, and maintain infrastructure projects for the greatest benefit to communities with the least impact on the environment and society.

MEET OUR DIRECTOR

Dr. Bryan Alamani

Bryan G. Alamani, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor at University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman Chemical Engineering (DChE) Department and an affiliate faculty at the UP Diliman Institute of Environmental Science and Meteorology (IESM) and the UP Surgical Innovation and Biotechnology Laboratory (UP SIBOL). Bryan holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston, a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of the Philippines Diliman
